Job description

About Us:

At Microamp Solutions, we’re pioneering the future of wireless communication with cutting-edge 5G mmWave Radio Units. We are a fast-growing team passionate about telecom innovation—and we’re looking for someone just as driven to join us in building, deploying, and supporting the next generation of radio access technology.

Your Role:

We are hiring an experienced PCB Designer with strong expertise in high-speed digital design, focusing on x86-based CPU motherboards. You will work closely with hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams to design, optimize, and deliver complex multilayer boards that meet performance, thermal, and EMI/EMC requirements. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience and be responsible for:

Responsibilities

  • Design multilayer PCB layouts for motherboards with x86 processors (Intel, AMD, or similar).

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate schematics into optimized board layouts.

  • Route high-speed differential pairs for PCIe, DDR4/DDR5, USB, SATA, and other high-bandwidth interfaces.

  • Ensure compliance with signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management requirements.

  • Perform design rule checks (DRC), electrical rule checks (ERC), and ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFT).

  • Generate fabrication and assembly documentation (Gerber, ODB++, BOMs, drawings).

  • Work with vendors to resolve manufacturing issues and optimize cost/yield.

  • Implement EMI/EMC best practices in board layout and grounding strategies.

  • Participate in board bring-up, debugging, and validation, including BIOS/UEFI and firmware integration.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in PCB design, preferably for motherboards or high-performance computing boards.

  • Proficiency with PCB CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Mentor Xpedition).

  • Strong knowledge of high-speed design techniques and constraints for DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0, and other modern bus interfaces.

  • Understanding of power delivery design for CPUs and GPUs.

  • Experience in motherboard bring-up with x86 CPUs, including BIOS/UEFI configuration and firmware updates.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems, including kernel configuration and device driver integration.

  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT) principles.

  • Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351, etc.).

  • Your confidence, trustworthiness, and general excitement of technology is a must!

Good to have

  • Experience with Intel or AMD reference designs and design guidelines.

  • Familiarity with signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) simulation tools.

  • Experience in embedded system design and integration.

  • Hands-on experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes, TDR, logic analyzers).

  • Familiarity with server-grade or industrial x86 motherboards.

  • Knowledge of Linux kernel driver development or customization for hardware bring-up.

Job benefits

  • 14000 - 25000 PLN gross (contract of employment or casual work contract),

  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle, from design to prototyping and testing.

  • Opportunity to join a fast-growing team at the early stage,

  • Healthcare & Sport packages,

  • Flexible working hours (inc. homeworking),

  • Integration events,

  • Great atmosphere and coffee 😊.
